Shopping in Liguria: the best Outlets

Your wardrobe does not satisfy you anymore? You would like to add new pieces to your “private collection” and renew your outfit? You could take the opportunity to visit the outlet. It could also be a different way to pass an autumn afternoon. The outlet is not just a commercial village, where you can buy high fashion products at a very cheap price; but it is also a place where, once you finish to shop it is possible to spend the time. There are also areas dedicated to children.

From this point of view Camogli is in a very favourable spot as with just one hour by car taking the highway, you can reach the famous Serravalle Designer Outlet, the biggest shopping village in Italy and in Europe. If you prefer to be closer to Camogli there is another outlet in the east of the region Shopinn Brugnato 5Terre Outlet Village, a new and vast space dedicated to shopping in the area of La Spezia and the only one in Liguria. It is just about 50 minutes’ highway drive from Camogli.

The Serravalle Outlet it is the best known in Italy and its sales can go from a 30% up a 70% all year long. To get there you need to take the highway direction Milan and exit in Serravalle Scrivia. For those who prefer not to drive there is a shuttlebus service available from Genoa.
Once there you won’t almost realize that you are not in the same region. The owners of McArthurGlen, the worldwide known Corporation, decided to inspire the outlet architecture to the one of Liguria. What is astonishing is the size of the outlet: it seems to walk inside a small town, with its streets, squares, bars and restaurants. The brands are the main protagonist there: almost 300 brands among Italians and internationals, and many others are about to join the group. In fact Serravalle outlet will not be any more just the reign of griffes like Gucci, Prada, Moncler, Armani, Nike, we can say that it has been in expansion since the year 2000. Soon will also arrive brands as Pandora with its charming jewelry, Malo that is unbeatable on its cashmere quality, O Bag with its practical but extremely fashionable bags, Malìparmi with the bohemian style of its dresses, and many others. Even the gourmand will enjoy a fresh arrival: the brewery Angelo Poretti, masters of hops since 1877. There are many places to relax, have breakfast, and enjoy a break maybe with an ice-cream. For lunch you can choose from various options and for the gluttons there is always the Lindt’s corner.

The outlet gives you a more complete experience thanks to events and attractions that are organized there. Till the end of January, every Saturday and Sunday , in Serravalle it will be possible to taste the “caldarroste” (roast chestnuts). The fashion’s passionate cannot miss the exposition “A tribute to the white shirt”, a series of 24 pictures selected from the Vogue’s archive as a tribute to the white shirt, a “must have” in the women’s wardrobe. It is opened until the 31st January. Up to the 30th October it will be possible to win a Gift Card of 1000€ and other exclusive prizes! Visit the official site to check all the details.

Instead if you prefer to shop in a much quieter contest, but all the same very attractive, then Shopinn Brugnato 5Terre is the right place for you. It’s very easy to reach as it is close to the highway exit of Brugnato. From a round square it branches off many “vicoli” (narrow streets) of shops. Shoppin guests brands like Borbonese, Camomilla, Datch, Gas, Gattinoni and many others: new brands are about to arrive in Brugnato’s Outlet.

Even if it is smaller than the one in Serravalle, the choice is wide and it is possible to book an appointment with a personal shopper in order to maximize your time and have an expert guiding you through the shops. Here as well, the parents will be able to shop in all tranquility as the children’s entertainer will take care of them and organize games. On the first floor of the main building you will be able to enjoy the exposition of young artists. Do not forget to visit the “Padiglione del Gusto” a stand dedicated to food. With one thousand square meters of surface it guests 6 restaurants, one bar and an “osteria”. There it is possible to taste typical dishes of Val di Vara and of Cinque Terre, like the pesto (a basil sauce), Brugnato’s cheese and Pignone’s sausages.
