{"id":2861,"date":"2016-05-16T10:56:01","date_gmt":"2016-05-16T08:56:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog-cenobio-test.local\/the-portofino-coast-watched-from-the-sea\/"},"modified":"2016-05-16T10:56:01","modified_gmt":"2016-05-16T08:56:01","slug":"the-portofino-coast-watched-from-the-sea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/en\/the-portofino-coast-watched-from-the-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"The Portofino Coast watched from the sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are two things never missing in Liguria and these are the sea and the wind.<\/p>\n<p>In one gorgeous day of March we were invited from the \u201cPortofino Coast Group\u201d to live a new and&nbsp; wonderful&nbsp; adventure, the discovery of our own territory travelling by sailboat.<\/p>\n<p>The sun and the sea were in our favor, the wind a little less, but still\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-299\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/DSC_0306.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3696\" height=\"2448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/DSC_0306.jpg 3696w, https:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/DSC_0306-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/DSC_0306-768x509.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/DSC_0306-1024x678.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 3696px) 100vw, 3696px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We start with a brief training on how to lead the sailboat and then facing the wind we departure from the port of <strong>Santa Margherita Ligure <\/strong>directing the bow towards Portofino.&nbsp; We are immediately surprised by gusts of wind that challenge us in the sailing.<\/p>\n<p>Nestled in a marvelous bay, between gorgeous villas, beautiful hotels and the famous Brown Castle, rises up <strong>Portofino, <\/strong>which is worldwide known as part of the jet set panorama. From the sea we can admire the beauty of our coast, the mountain of Portofino in the background and the green hills that are reflected by the Ligurian Sea&nbsp; painting them of a deep green. Once passed the lighthouse, we see the San Giorgio\u2019s church that raise like a small temple built right on the cliff of the promontory.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-301\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/IMG_0780.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1536\" height=\"2048\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/IMG_0780.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/IMG_0780-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blog.cenobio.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/IMG_0780-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1536px) 100vw, 1536px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We continue towards Camogli, passing in front of the famous \u201cMayor House\u201d (visible just by the sea), Punta Vessinaro, Cala degli Inglesi, a beautiful bay characterized of majestic rocks and a crystalline sea. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We smoothly sail until we come across San Fruttuoso Bay and it seems to us that we are contemplating a painting with the Abbey as protagonist. The Abbey of San Fruttuoso was built between the X and&nbsp; the XI century and it is a small jewel with a very ancient history; in 1983 it was kindly donated to <strong>FAI \u2013 Fondo Ambiente Italiano (Italian Environment Foundation) <\/strong>from Franck and Orietta Pogson Doria Pamphilj.
