Is there anything better than spend the most romantic day of the year in the sweet company of your beloved in one of the most gorgeous seaside villages of Italy?
\nMaybe not, especially if the place is Camogli<\/strong>, a true pearl of Riviera Ligure<\/strong>. The village with its wonderful sea side, the typical narrow streets (vicoli), it is a very romantic destination, perfect to celebrate Saint Valentine\u2019s day<\/strong>. The photography contest \u201cTeneramente Atteso\u201d that many people joined, professionals and amateurs with more than 300 pictures enhanced Camogli in all its charm and reveal its romantic aspect worldwide.<\/p>\n

\nThe atmosphere becomes even more magical in February, reaching its climax on February 14th , when the village will welcome thousands of lovers for Saint Valentine. It\u2019s time for San Valentino\u2026 Innamorati a Camogli. This year it will be the 31st Edition of this event and in all the streets of the town the theme will recall romanticism and love.<\/p>\n

There will be the classic red hearts<\/strong> that will be bind to the traditional fishing<\/strong> net in the harbour and all around town as well as in Ruta and San Rocco it will be possible to read the love poetry written for the annual contest Poesie d\u2019Amore<\/strong>. Every year thousands of love letters arrive from all over Italy and abroad with the desire to express love and in this sense, there is no boundary to it. This year the same feeling brought to the village 900 letters. The jury will have to choose just 20 of them. The poetry exposition<\/strong> will take place from February 8th to February 18th. If you are in Camogli before February 14th you can express your preference in the info point \u201cSan Valentino a Camogli\u201d Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th up till 3 pm. There will also be a special prize a weekend in Camogli with dinner in one of the many restaurants that join the event, together with a personal guided visit with the Manager of the beautiful and romantic Abbey of San Fruttuoso<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThis edition will also have other surprises: the selected poetry will be published inside the book \u201cTeneramente atteso\u201d that will be printed in April, the result of the photographic contest promoted by Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi. All the incomes from the selling of the book will be donated to charity. What better way to conclude San Valentine\u2019s Day if not with a romantic dinner, obviously as the maritime tradition wants with a fish menu and a seaside view. This will also be the only occasion to receive Camogli\u2019s San Valentine decorated plate<\/strong>, symbol of this event. This year is decorated by the local artist Maria Teresa Di Micco, who loves the colourful house and the nature surrounding Camogli. The subject of the plate is the harbour<\/strong>: there is the sea, the net with the hearts, the houses, the fishermen boats and their nets. Many restaurants and bars in the village join the initiative, among them there is our restaurant Il Doge<\/strong>, with its gorgeous sea view that awaits you for an unforgettable evening. Here romanticism and delicious cuisine<\/strong> will be protagonists. Reservation for dinner can be made from February 10th and February 14th.<\/p>\n
